Description

Using 60-100 year old photos, I’ve produced a set of 25 different postcards. These postcards represent a good variety of old photographs that will appeal to both blacksmiths and farriers. See samples below (Note: the card indication does not appear on the postcards). One sample shows a blacksmith reworking pick axes with his dog at an outdoor forge. One shows a little girl wearing old button shoes with an iron rose on an anvil that appears to be about 25 pounds. One shows a farrier working out of the back of an old panel truck, and one shows two blacksmiths preparing a tire for a wagon wheel. Not shown in the samples is one that shows a blacksmith with his anvil out in front of his shop. On either side of him is his family, one member of which appears to have been dinged on the head. Others include a blacksmith school in Mt. Berry, Georgia, and blacksmiths working at a variety of anvils, some of which have markings clear enough to be able to determine the brand. They are standard size 3.5" x 5.5" postcards with a standard divided back. Please don't use the examples as an indication of quality. The examples were scanned at 72 pixels-per-inch which is ideal for display on computer monitors. The postcards were professionally printed using a 200 line-per-inch process, which yielded a near photographic result. They were then coated to protect the printed surface, leaving a semi-gloss finish. Free shipping to a U.S. or Canadian address. Shipped when check clears or immediately with money order. Inquire if interested in more than what remains in the auction. Note: See my other auctions for year 2001 through 2008 Blacksmith Calendars produced using different sets of 80-100 year old photographs. Please e-mail any questions.
