The items for auction are two vintage, hand-carved and hand-painted wooden bottle stoppers hailing from Bavaria, Germany. One stopper has an elaborately carved rounded, snowy beard, carefully crinkled eyes and expressions, brightly-painted scarf, wearing top hat with feather, smoking a stogy. The other stopper has a flat hat with flowers on it, white beard with craggy beard, smoking a stogy, and bearing rosy-red cheeks. Each stopper measured 4 1/2" high from cork to top of the hat. The stopper with the more-sculpted beard lacks one eye (it appears to not have been painted in). That is the only flaw in either intricately-carved stopper. These are amazing works of Art.
