Description

Small Royal Doulton Character Jug - ST GEORGE   This is a delightful small Royal Doulton Character Jug modeled as St George.     The jug, standing 4 inches high, was designed by Max Henk and issued between 1968 and 1971.  It is modeled as the patron saint of England.   This example was produced in English Translucent China (ETC) as opposed earthenware.  Royal Doulton produced their Character Jugs in ETC for a brief period between 1968 and 1973.  The easy way to distinguish between ETC and earthenware jugs is that ETC, as the name suggests, allows light to pass through whilst earthenware blocks light.  We have tried to illustrate this in one of the photographs by putting a light source inside the jug.  On the underside of the jug is the printed Royal Doulton mark and detail, as shown in the photograph.  PLEASE NOTE: The model number D6618 that appears in the detail is incorrect, it is the number for the large jug.  The correct number for the small jug is D6621.  The item is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restorations.  The decoration is bright and vibrant with no sign of wear.   For details of the significant multi-item shipping discounts we are able of offer please go to our   page.
