This is a vintage 1940's Hawaiian hula girl statue. I am selling this for a friend who's father bought it during WWII and brought it home. The stature is large 18 1/2" tall. The base is oval 7" x 5 1/2". She is very heavy almost 8 lbs. It is a wonderful ivory color with a very nice patina. I think it is heavy chalk or plaster medium for the statue. She is not perfect and does have some condition issues to be pointed out. On the back bottom of the base, 1945 is written in red pencil/pen. The base has been cracked or broken and possibly glued or repaired. The base around the feet has chipped off paint missing and also on the right hand.. There are fine stressed fractures or lines, around the right wrist (with the flower), right top shoulder has a fine line and also on the left lower leg.. Also if you look at the back of the head and neck you will see some paint where it looks like a repair of some kind was attempted. The paint on the eyes an mouth is worn and faded. She is all intact and being sold as is. She really has a vintage look and is a very very nice statue inspite of the flaws. Please email me with questions. Thank you for looking.
